Jakarta (ANTARA News) – Indonesian President Joko Widodo and his Vietnamese counterpart President Truong Tang Sang agreed to strengthen defense cooperation between the two countries, Cabinet Secretary Andi Widjajanto stated here on Thursday.

“The defense cooperation will particularly be strengthened by conducting a joint military exercise, joint sea patrol, and transfer of military technology,” he noted on the sidelines of the ongoing event for commemorating the 60th anniversary of the Asian-African Conference here.

The two leaders also discussed about the ongoing talks on the maritime boundary of the two countries in which they expect a quick resolution to this problem, he said.

“The negotiation process is going smoothly and will end with an agreement that will confirm the territorial sovereignty of the two countries,” Widjajanto emphasized.
