#AceNewsServices – Featured Report:YEMEN:April.16: Al-Qaeda has taken control of a major airport, a sea port and an oil terminal in southern Yemen, AP reported, citing military officials and residents.

Militants clashed on Thursday with members of one of Yemen’s largest infantry brigades outside Mukalla, a city the militants overran earlier this month. The brigade is in charge of securing the coast of Mukalla, the provincial capital of the largest province, Hadramawt.

Yemeni Vice President Khaled Bahah said on Thursday he hoped a Saudi-led Arab coalition would not send in ground troops to fight Houthi rebels, Reuters reported. Bahah also said that no peace initiatives would be considered until President Abed Rabbou Mansour Hadi and his government returned to the southern city of Aden.

Former Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh has proposed all armed groups should be withdrawn from the capital Sanaa and the second largest city, Aden, TASS said. The…
