RAMALLAH, February 1, 2015 (WAFA) – Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, in a statement Sunday that it would soon ask the International Criminal Court (ICC) to investigate the illegal Israeli settlement activities in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem.

On Friday, the Israeli government published tenders to build more than 420 new settlement units in the occupied West Bank, reported Israeli media sources.

The Foreign Ministry considered the new settlement tenders a “bold defiance” of the international community and legitimacy on the side of Israel, adding that Israel pays no attention to the international condemnations of the illegal Israeli settlement activities.

The membership of the State of Palestine to the ICC is likely to be fully accepted on April 1, after which Palestine can raise the issue of illegal Israeli settlement construction and expansion for scrutiny.
